* A two week program from June 23 through July 3
(no classes on weekends or July 4) for children ages 4 to 14.
Cost: $180 for first week, $144 for second week, or $280 for
both weeks (with family discounts) -
which includes a program T-shirt, certificates and for two-week
campers, special chess awards.
* You can enroll for one or two
weeks - except for beginners. The beginner class will go
from June 23 to July 3, with a cost of $280.
* Two sessions:
the first session from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM is for beginners,
and the second session from 1:30 PM until 4:30 PM is for
intermediate or advanced players.
* Classes held at Harker Middle School, 3800 Blackford Ave., San
Jose, CA 95117. A
small snack will be provided at break time.
* SCS instructors
will guide learning and play through rewards and positive
reinforcement for all levels of players--those who know
nothing about chess to very experienced players.
* Class
instructors from our full-time staff.
* Advanced players will participate in structured
tournament play for half the time with their games being analyzed
with their opponents and instructors.
